Salem Baptist International School emerges winner of BSN Bible quiz for primary schools

Salem Baptist International School won the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) Bible quiz for primary schools on Thursday in Lagos.
The quiz was part of the BSN mission to instill godly values and promote early engagement with scripture.
The event took place at the Salvation Army, Igbobi Corps, Onipanu, and featured six finalist schools selected from a pool of 17 participants.
Salem Baptist International School, represented by Muritala Desmond and Taiwo Ewaoluwa, clinched the first-place position after a rigorous competition.
Graine Royal School and Angels on Mission emerged as first and second runners-up, respectively.
Other finalists included God’s Glory Abide Nursery and Primary School (fourth place), Tane Crescent (fifth), and De-future Hope School (sixth).
The general secretary/CEO of BSN, Samuel Sanusi, said, “We want our children to revive godly values. With the rise in moral decadence in society, reading and understanding the Bible helps children to know what God wants them to do, shaping them to live according to His will.”
During the preliminary rounds, he noted that the 17 participating schools answered questions derived from the BSN publication ‘My 100 Best Loved Bible Stories’.
According to him, the top-performing schools advanced to the final stage of the competition.
He also appealed to well-meaning Nigerians and organizations to support the initiative, enabling wider participation and more rewarding prizes for the pupils.
“As we catch them young, we help them grow into morally upright individuals who can resist social vices and positively impact society,” he added.
He said the Bible Society of Nigeria remained committed to promoting biblical literacy and spiritual growth across all age groups.
He also mentioned that the BSN is the leading organisation responsible for translating the Bible into Nigerian languages, with over 29 translations completed to date.
