RRS intercepts bus containing stolen bags of flour, sugar from burgled Lagos shop

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted a Volkswagen bus containing stolen bags of flour and sugar.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this on his official X handle on Sunday.
According to Mr Hundeyin, the suspects abandoned the vehicle on sighting the police patrol team, adding that investigation revealed that the goods were stolen from a shop burgled in Iba area of the state.
He wrote, “Patrol officers from Elere Division stopped a Volkswagen bus containing bags of flour and sugar at about 3:40am. Upon sighting the police, the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled. Investigation revealed that the goods were stolen from a burgled shop in Iba.’’
He stated that the stolen goods had been handed over to the owner and the vehicle in police custody.
He noted that the command was intensifying efforts to apprehend the thieves.
