Rovers FC edge Abakaliki FC, finish campaign eighth

Rovers Football Club of Calabar defeated Abakaliki FC 1-0 in their final Nigeria National League B2 Southern Conference match on Thursday.
The encounter, played at the U.J. Esuene Stadium main bowl, saw both sides battle intensely before a decisive breakthrough in the second half.
Tony Ayang emerged as the hero, scoring the lone goal in the 68th minute to seal victory for the home team.
The slim win ensured Rovers FC finished the season in eighth place in the NNL B2 Southern Conference table.
Rovers accumulated 22 points from 18 matches, wrapping up their campaign on a modest but positive note.
Meanwhile, all NNL matches were concluded on Thursday, marking the end of the regular season.
