Rivers’ Obio/Akpor LG chair appoints extra 100 SAs days after appointing 130

Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has appointed an additional 100 special assistants.
The new appointees were contained in a statement on Saturday where the LG boss also congratulated them.
The LG boss said, “I have appointed an additional 100 persons as special assistants to help me achieve my plans for my people. Their appointment takes immediate effect.”
The latest development came a few days after he announced the appointment of 130 SAs on January 8, 2024, bringing the total number of SAs for Mr Ihunwo to 230.
Also, recall that before the October 5, 2024 LG election, Mr Ihunwo, as caretaker chairman of the LG, also announced the appointment of 100 SAs to his cabinet.
