Some residents of Igando and Ayobo areas of Lagos State on Thursday lauded Governor Babajide  Sanwo-Olu over the construction of a bridge linking the two communities.

In separate interviews in Lagos, they said that the link bridge had brought relief and joy to them.

A resident of Ayobo, Suliat Adeyinka, said the newly constructed bridge had reduced travel time, improved connectivity and boosted economic activities in the area.

She said, “The bridge has been a game-changer for me, before I used to take a long route when going to market, but now I can easily access both market and home without stress.”

A resident of Igando, Alaba Adebayo, said the bridge had opened up new opportunities for many residents.

He commended the governor for his vision and commitment to infrastructural development in the state.

He said, “This bridge has opened up new opportunities for us. We can now easily access our markets, schools, and healthcare facilities in Ayobo. It has also reduced traffic congestion and travel time, making it easier for residents to navigate the busy Lagos roads.”

A resident of Ayobo, Omokolade Anuoluwapo, said the bridge had provided easy movement and accessibility for residents with a reduced travel time.

“I used to spend over an hour going to work before, but now, I can get to Igando in just 20 minutes. This is amazing. We are grateful to Sanwo-Olu for this good work,” she said

Before the construction of the link bridge, the only link between the two communities was a tolled wooden bridge.

Users paid between N100 to N500 depending on vehicle size to use the wooden bridge.
