Reps committee promises to revamp Nigeria’s aviation sector

The chairman of the House of Representatives committee on aviation technology, Rep. Thomas Eriyetomi, has promised to revamp the country’s aviation sector.
The lawmaker said this at the inaugural meeting of the committee in Abuja on Tuesday.
Mr Eriyetomi and that the newly formed committee would fulfill its mandate by collaborating with key stakeholders to bring innovation and productivity into the aviation industry.
He named some of the committee’s roles, emphasising its focus on overseeing air safety services at airports (NSIB), aviation schools and institutions, meteorological services (NIMET), annual budget estimates, and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT).
The chairman also pledged to ensure inclusiveness in piloting the affairs of the committee.
He promised that the committee would leave no stone unturned when executing its responsibilities or addressing any referred matters, utilising its diverse competencies to ensure success.
