Renowned historian, journalist Tayo Agunbiade is dead

Renowned historian and journalist Tayo Agunbiade, known for her contributions to preserving Nigerian history, has passed away at 65.
The news of her death was confirmed in a message on Tuesday by one of her children, Sinaola Agunbiade. However, the cause of death was not disclosed.
According to Ms Sinaola, the deceased’s children were beside her until her last breath.
Ms Sinaola said, “Heya, so unfortunately, my mum passed away this morning. My sister and I were with her till her last moments. Before she passed, she said to say she sends her love to you all.”
Ms Agunbiade’s death comes just a month after celebrating her 65th birthday on September 4.
During her years, Ms Agunbiade authored various books on Nigerian history and culture, with one of her most recent publications being “Untold Histories of Nigerian Women: Emerging from the Margin”, which sheds light on the often-overlooked stories of Nigerian women.
She also worked with various prominent Nigerian newspapers.
