Remi Tinubu condemns backless, plunge, slip, naked dresses worn by Nigerian girls

The first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has strongly advocated for mentorship that emphasises modesty, cultural values, and moral character.
She gave the advice on Thursday during an interfaith Iftar/Lent breaking of fast she hosted for Muslim and Christian women.
“Nakedness is not acceptable in our culture. Beauty should be accompanied by decency,” she said.
She urged younger generations to embrace their identity rather than adopt foreign fashion trends that expose their bodies.
She also urged parents to mentor the young ones on ways of life and dressing, and to have at least one mentee they can sponsor in school.
”Help them even if it’s to give a scholarship, teach them leadership, teach them how to be of good behaviour. Teach them how to dress well because you can see that our young people like (to) open their bodies.
”Teach them how to cover up because being naked is not beauty. I can only pray that God will answer all your petitions,” said Ms Tinubu.
She urged Nigerians to use the Ramadan and Lent periods for spiritual reflection, pray for the nation’s peace and prosperity, and foster unity across different faiths.
