Ramadan: Gov. Lawal’s wife donates food, clothes to 250,000 Zamfara women

The Wife of Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Lawal, has donated food items and clothing materials to 250,000 women in the state to ease the Ramadan fast and improve their wellbeing.
Mrs Lawal distributed the items on Friday in Gusau through the wives of the council chairmen.
She said that the donation was meant to support the beneficiaries during the holy month of Ramadan.
She noted that the initiative had successfully provided essential support to vulnerable families and individuals in the state.
She said: “The holy month reminds us of our duty to care for one another, especially the less fortunate. Through this welfare initiative, we hope to bring comfort and sustenance to families, enabling them to observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.’’
The governor’s wife thanked the chairmen of the 14 Local Government Areas in the state for their efforts in providing similar support to the underprivileged in their communities.
“Together, we are making positive impacts in our communities. I encourage everyone to extend their hands to support one another not only during Ramadan but throughout the year,” she said.
She affirmed her commitment to the ongoing welfare and empowerment programmes, pointing out that community support would remain her top priority beyond the Ramadan season.
She conveyed warm wishes to the people in the spirit of the Ramadan and prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and unity across the state.
Responding, the Wife of Gusau council Chairman, Aishatu Abubakar, commended the first lady for the gesture.
According to her, the items will go a long way in providing relief to the beneficiaries.
Mrs Abubakar promised efficient delivery of the items to the target beneficiaries in good time.
She urged the people to continue to pray for the success of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration.
