Rainy Season: FRSC to embark on special intervention patrols in Ekiti

The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ekiti, Sanya Adeoye, says the command and all component commands will embark on special patrols from May 19 to May 25.
This is contained in a statement by the state FRSC sector public education officer, Tajudeen Balogun, on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.
Mr Adeoye said the objective of the special patrols was to bring erring road users to book and drive home the need for road users to get fully prepared for the rainy season.
The sector commander said different public enlightenment advocacies were already in place to reawaken motorists’ consciousness of having good wipers, tyres, windscreens, and wheels.
According to him, the special intervention patrol is needed for drivers to be conscious of maintaining a safe speed and avoid overspeeding during the rainy season.
“Increased enforcement and arrest of erring motorists will soon commence,” he said. “It will serve as an opportunity for all motorists to put their vehicles in proper shape to ensure a safe drive during the rainy season.”
