PRP chairman canvasses unity amid internal challenges

The national chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has called for internal unity as the party navigates complex political manoeuvres and attempts to test its grassroots strength.
He made the call in a statement on Thursday. Mr Baba-Ahmed emphasised the importance of organisational resilience and urged members to remain steadfast and vigilant against distractions designed to fracture the party.
“It is now clear that attempts are being made to use subversive and disgraced former members of the party to create impressions of division in the party,” he said.
He highlighted ongoing concerns regarding unauthorised recruitment activities and financial pressures that could potentially confuse members during the critical build-up to upcoming electoral contests.
The national chairman cautioned members to carefully verify all official directives and avoid external influences seeking to create internal friction.
”The persons in the governing party involved in this scheme have been advised to steer clear of PRP and distance themselves from attempts to create a fictional PRP with their party’s funds and their names,” Mr Baba-Ahmed noted.
The chairman said that accountability remained a priority, warning that serving officers found engaging in disruptive activities would encounter necessary internal disciplinary procedures.
Despite these hurdles, he expressed absolute confidence in its broader vision, promising supporters that collective efforts to build a formidable coalition would remain uncompromised.
The national chairman assured candidates and loyal members that their enduring sacrifices would continue to anchor the party’s mission for the future.
“The leadership of the PRP wishes to assure its candidates and party supporters that it will not sacrifice their commitments and loyalty at any price.
“The party is committed to providing a befitting challenge to the continuation of this administration beyond 2027, as well as its role in building a potential winning coalition,” he said.
