Protesters clog roads around EU summit in Brussels

Protesting farmers blocked the roads around the EU summit, gathering the bloc’s 27 leaders scheduled on Thursday with about 1,000 tractors, a police statement said.
The protesters complained about taxes, rising costs, and cheap imports and asked EU leaders to do more help.
The special EU summit is to discuss the midterm revision of the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework, assistance to Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
The European Council President Charles Michel made this statement in an invitation letter to members of the European Council ahead of the summit.
