The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), has appealed to the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, to prioritise their needs and mainstream disability inclusion into governance.

The State Chairman, JONAPWD, Onyebuchi Mba, made the appeal in a statement on Thursday in Enugu.

He urged the governor to establish the Enugu State Disability Commission and ensure promotion of equal representation and accessibility.

Mr Mbah said. “We are calling on Mbah, to fulfill his promise of establishing the Enugu State Disability Commission. In spite of the governor’s transformative leadership and commitment to inclusivity, persons with disabilities continue to face socio-economic challenges and exclusion. With the citizens support, we can bring about positive change and ensure that the rights of persons with disabilities are protected.’’
