Delu Bulus-Yakubu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has appealed to Nigerians to show understanding amid the current economic reforms by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Ms Yakubu made the appeal on Thursday in an address to mark the 2024 International Poverty Eradication Day organised by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in collaboration with the Solidarity Empowerment Club in Abuja.

The event theme is “Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment, Acting Together for Peaceful, Inclusive Society.”

” I want to use this platform to plead with Nigerians with the present economy, the hardship is surmountable, and it is a gradual process.

”Please, let’s be calm, show understanding and support the renewed hope of the administration to see our country move to the next level,” Ms Yakubu urged Nigerians.

The presidential aide explained that the Tinubu-led administration is working hard to address the country’s economic situation, hence the need for Nigerians to show understanding.

”I want to assure Nigerians today that the present administration is working hard and introducing so many policies that will cushion the hardship in our dear country,” she said.

She, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to support the administration to deliver on its mandate.
