Pray for Tinubu to succeed, APC chieftain tells Nigerians

A former member of the House of Representatives, Sam Onuigbo, has called for nationwide prayers and support to enable President Bola Tinubu to move the nation forward.
He made the call on Saturday in Umuahia during a thank-you reception for his supporters and associates.
Mr Onuigbo, a two-term member who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, Abia, described Mr Tinubu as a man who believes in fostering unity and progress of the nation.
Mr Onuigbo is representing the South-East on the Governing Board of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC).
According to him, Mr President is the father of the nation and we must pray for his good health and long life as well as for all the support he can get locally and internationally for a better Nigeria.
He said: “It is very important to pray for Mr President for God to give him wisdom because when it is well with him as a leader and it is well with the people he is leading, then it is well with Nigeria as a nation.
“Even the Bible urges us to pray for our leaders and it is important for us to do so because if we don’t do it and there is a problem anywhere, the masses will be affected.”
Mr Onuigbo sued for calm with Mr Tinubu on some of the policies of the Federal Government, saying that he was making efforts to solve the problems he met in office.
“He has just been in office for about six months; he is bringing in new policies and new approaches in solving the accumulated problems,” the former legislator said.
Mr Onuigbo, the APC Senatorial candidate for Abia Central in the 2023 elections, thanked his supporters and associates for their steadfast support over the years.
Mr Onuigbo, who was inducted into NASS Hall of Fame in 2023, said that it was an annual ‘family’ event to express his immense gratitude to his supporters.
“Despite the vicissitudes of life and politics, you have stood by me and continued to show me unwavering support,” he said.
