Police warn Kaduna mischief-makers to repent

The police command in Kaduna has warned mischief makers to repent or face the full wrath of the law. The command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, stated in a statement on Thursday.
Mr Hassan said, “The commissioner of police, Kaduna state command, Rabiu Muhammad, gave the warning at the Community Policing Strategy and Community Engagement with Kaduna South and Central stakeholders convened on Thursday.”
He explained that the meeting was aimed at discussing key issues relating to the current security situation in the state, strengthening collaboration, and deepening trust between the police.
This was with a view to promoting unity and understanding amongst farmers and herders in communities across the southern and central zones of the state.
He disclosed that the meeting had the attendance of traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth leaders, Fulani leaders under Miyetti Allah, students’ union representatives, and other influential members of the various communities.
Mr Muhammad added that the interactive session provided a platform for the stakeholders to express concerns, proffer solutions, and reaffirm their commitment to supporting the command in safeguarding lives and property.
The police chief noted that community partnership remained central to effective policing and assured that the command would continue to engage all the groups to sustain peace and security across the state.
He appreciated the efforts of the military, the SSS, and other security agencies to ensure effective synergy and collaboration in safeguarding the safety and security of all persons and properties within the state.
Mr Muhammad also applauded the tremendous contributions made by the state government, which has provided continuous support to the state’s security agencies.
The police commissioner also thanked the inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetekun, for his unwavering support of the command. The commissioner appreciated the good people of Kaduna for standing with the police command in the fight against crime.
