Police parade 42 suspects for alleged cultism, criminal activities in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 42 suspects over their alleged involvement in cultism and other criminal activities in the state.
The commissioner of police in Lagos, Idowu Owohunwa, during the parade at the police command Ikeja, said some exhibits were found with the suspects.
He said the suspects that were arrested operate around Ijora, Orile and Ikorodu areas of the state adding that the exhibits recovered during the arrest include locally made guns, fabricated semi-automatic pistols, axes, cutlasses, daggers, knives, live cartridges, multiple charms, among harmful weapons.
The commissioner said the suspected cultists were arrested with semi-automatic fabricated shotguns linked to a network of criminals.
He said the command had commenced investigation to fish out the criminals and the fabricators of the weapons.
Mr Owohunwa assured residents of Lagos that cultism and criminal activities will not be tolerated by the police in the state.
