Police nab suspected armed robber, recover two motorcycles in Akwa Ibom

The police command in Akwa Ibom has apprehended an armed robbery suspect and recovered two commercial motorcycles in the process.
The command’s public relations officer, ASP Timfon John, disclosed this while speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Uyo.
Ms John said that the suspect, Ukpono Ekopntak, was apprehended at Ekom Iman in Uyo metropolis during a routine stop-and-search patrol.
She said that the police dragnet had been launched to track down other members of the armed robbery gang.
Ms John said that Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom, had reiterated his commitment to tackle all manner of crime in the state.
The police spokesperson said that the command under the watch of Mr Ayilara would continue to be proactive in the fight against crime.
