Police nab suspected armed robber, recover gun in Lagos

Police in Lagos State have arrested a man, Azeez Jimoh, for alleged armed robbery at the Meiran area of the state.
Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest on Friday on his verified Twitter handle.
He said that the suspect was arrested on Thursday at 11:50 p.m. by officers of Meiran Division.
“On 15/12/2022 at about 2350hrs, three men using a motorcycle while robbing pedestrians spotted Meiran Division patrol officers and took to their heels.
“After a hot pursuit, Azeez Jimoh was arrested with a locally made pistol, three unexpended cartridges and eight stolen phones, wristwatch, a security chain and padlock and N93,200 cash,” he said.
According to Mr Hundeyin, efforts are on to arrest the fleeing two.
