Police nab nine suspects for various crimes in Gombe

The police command in Gombe state says it detained nine suspects for various offences in the state.
The command’s public relations officer (PPRO), ASP Abdullahi Buhari, disclosed this at a news conference in Gombe.
Mr Buhari, who represented the Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Usman, at the conference, said the crimes committed by the suspects included armed robbery, assisting in concealment, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property.
“Exhibits recovered included two laptops, 26 mobile phones, three power banks, three touch light, one rechargeable hand fan, four pairs of women sandals and five ATM cards”, he said.
According to him, the sum of N224,700 and one charm and three cutlasses were also recovered from the suspects.
The command’s spokesman said some of the suspects were responsible for robbing the Nigerian Christian Fellowship Corpers Lodge in Billiri and the house of the immediate past commissioner of agriculture in the state, Muhammad Gettado.
He stated that in the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to have committed the alleged offences and would soon be charged to court.
The PPRO stated that five suspects were at large in connection with the crimes, adding that the police were on their trail.
Mr Buhari assured residents of the state of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and safeguarding property in the state.
