Police invite NLC president for alleged terrorism financing, criminal conspiracy

The police have requested the presence of the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, for an investigation into alleged criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.
This was disclosed on Monday in a letter of invitation signed by the assistant commissioner of police, ACP Adamu Muazu, on behalf of the deputy commissioner of police, Intelligence Response Team.
According to the letter, the police are investigating a case in which Mr Ajaero was implicated and, as a result, require his presence for an interview.
The letter stated, “This office is investigating a case of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime in which you have been implicated.”
“You are therefore invited to interview with the undersigned on Tuesday, 20th August 2024, at 10:00 hrs prompt, at IRT Complex, Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja, through the Team Leader with telephone no. 08035179870 in connection with the above investigation.”
The police also warned Mr Ajaero that a warrant of arrest would be issued if he failed to cooperate with the investigation.
The letter added, “Be informed that in the event of failing to honour this letter, this office will have no alternative but to activate a warrant of arrest against you.”
