Police investigating Dala Rep-elect Madaki over alleged illegal weapon

The police command in Kano has invited Aliyu Madaki, the House of Representatives member-elect for Dala federal constituency, over alleged unlawful firearm possession.
The command’s spokesman Abdullahi Kiyawa confirmed this in a statement issued to journalists in Kano on Wednesday.
The statement disclosed that the command, “under the leadership” of the police commissioner Muhammad Yakubu, invited Mr Madaki.
“He is currently at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) undergoing an investigation,” the police statement said.
