The command’s spokesperson stated that the trio who confessed to being members of an armed robbery gang terrorising Mararaba and its environs, were found with “one locally fabricated rifle, a knife and criminal charms recovered from them as exhibits.’’
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had on 02/10/2024 at about 2240hrs, stormed a residential Building Yelwa village road, Aso Pada, to carry out their nefarious activity but met stiff resistance and fled,” he said.

He added, “Similarly, on 05/10/2024 at 1400hrs, actionable intelligence at the disposal of police detectives attached to New Karu Area command revealed that one Mohammed Aliyu Abubakar ‘M’ of Mabushi, FCT Abuja and three others were in possession of a Blue Toyota Camry with registration number RBC 980 DA suspected to stolen, and were in search of a buyer.’’
He said the suspects fled when they saw operatives approaching but only one of them was apprehended and the stolen vehicle retrieved.
