Police arrest three men for stealing N55,000 goods

Three men Monday appeared before the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing two bags of polyethene materials worth N55,000.
The police charged Julius Oselenbalu,38, Adewale Ige,32 and Jamiu Nurudeen, 33, with conspiracy and theft.
Prosecution counsel E.O. Adaraloye told the court they committed the offence on March 24 at about 8:50 p.m. at Geepee Company in Ijako, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye explained that Messrs Oselenbalu and Ige, the company’s staff, conspired and stole two bags of raw materials called ‘borouge polyethene’ worth N55,000 belonging to their employer.
He added that Mr Nurudeen received the stolen item.
The offence contravened sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate A O. Adeyemi admitted the defendants to N100,000 bail with one surety each.
Mrs Adeyemi ordered that the sureties reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun government.
She adjourned the case until April 29 for further hearing.
