Police arrest seven people for burglary in Ekiti

The police command in Ekiti on Wednesday said it arrested seven people for burglarising a warehouse in Ado-Ekiti. The command’s spokesman Sunday Abutu disclosed this in a statement in Ado-Ekiti.
“The command, on December 12, received credible information that a warehouse at Km4, Iworoko Road in Ado-Ekiti was being burgled by unknown thieves,” said the police statement.
It added, “Upon receipt of the report, the command’s operatives swung into action and mobilised to the scene, arrested seven suspects, namely Donne Houndetounkpo, 25, Coker Akeem, Adewole Olatunde 31, Olowosile Bukinmi 25, Ajileye Deborah 30, Paul Jonati 32 and Ojo Micheal 31.”
The suspects, during interrogation, confessed to the crime and mentioned an individual, Akinleye Ojo, as one of the gang members who escaped arrest, said the police.
According to the statement, efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, while those arrested will be prosecuted after the investigation.
