Police arrest man over alleged illegal possession of pistol

The police in Lagos State have arrested a 33-year-old suspect, Adegun Aboderin, over alleged illegal possession of a pistol.
Police spokesperson in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a post he shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle @benHundeyin on Thursday.
Mr Hundeyin said that the suspect was apprehended on Thursday morning at Abule-Ado, Amuwo-Odofin area of the state.
“The police, on a stop and search operation, arrested the suspect at 6.00 a.m. at Abule- Ado. When he was searched, a locally fabricated semi-automatic pistol was recovered,” the spokesman said.
According to Mr Hundeyin, investigation into the case is ongoing.
