The police command in Niger has arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing a cow in Suleja, Niger.

According to a statement by its spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, on Tuesday, the police received a report at ‘B’ Division, Suleja, that on September 4, a boy left home with cattle for grazing along the New-Gwazunu area of Suleja. When the boy returned home, one of the cows was missing.

“So, on receipt of the report, police operatives of the division commenced the investigation, and in the process, one suspect, Salisu, was arrested, and he confessed to the crime.

“Salisu stated that he handed over the cow to one Ismail and Puri, both currently at large. It was further revealed that the cow was sold to one Habu.

“The said cow was later recovered from the house of one Suleiman Bawa, of APC Quarters Suleja, with two other cows, who claimed that Habu kept the animals with him,” he said.

Messrs Salisu and Bawa are in custody for further investigation, while efforts are ongoing to arrest Messrs Ismail, Puri and Habu.
