Police arrest 39-year-old suspect with stolen bus

The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old suspect, Nnamdi Osita, in connection with the alleged theft of a Toyota Coaster bus.
The bus, with Abuja registration number GWA 488 ZD, was reportedly stolen over a year ago from Nyanya, FCT, Abuja, and was recovered from the suspect.
A statement on Saturday in Lokoja by the command’s spokesperson, SP Williams Ovye-Aya, confirmed that the arrest took place on Wednesday, January 23, following an intelligence report.
Mr Ovye-Aya quoted the new state Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, as explaining that the stolen bus was spotted travelling along the Abuja-Lokoja highway, which led the police to stop the vehicle and arrest the suspect.
He stated that the arrest was made by operatives from the ‘B’ Division Lokoja, in collaboration with other security agencies, at about 16:45hrs on January 23.
He said, “The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.”
Mr Dantawaye assured the public that the police were committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Kogi State.
He also urged the public to support the police by providing timely and credible information regarding criminal activities in the area.
