Police arraign man over alleged theft of aluminium panel worth N500,000

The police on Tuesday arraigned a 32-year-old man, Marcus Jabhet, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing an aluminium panel valued at N500,000.
Jabhet, whose address was not given, was charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Musbau Lawal told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Sunday at about 8.30 a.m. at Onireke, Eleyele area of Ibadan.
Mr Lawal said that the defendant and others conspired to steal the aluminium panel belonging to Coop Property Development Company, Ibadan.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Olaolu Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000, with two reliable sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until August 19 for hearing.
