Police arraign electrician over alleged theft of water pumping machine

A 28-year old man, Stanley Vincent, was on Tuesday, arraigned before a Karu Magistrates Court, Abuja, over alleged theft of a water pumping machine valued N850,000.
Vincent, an electrician, who resides at Karu Village, Abuja, is charged with theft and joint acts, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the matter was reported at the Karu Police Station on Jan. 30, by the complainant, Collins Ake.
Mr Osho said that the defendant conspired with a scavenger, and stole his water pumping machine, valued N850,000.
He further said that the defendant could not deny the allegations during investigation.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 79 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The Magistrate, Ngozi Okonkwo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until March 3, for hearing.
