Police, Amotekun, hunters comb Ogun forest, rescue abducted Celestial church shepherd

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have rescued an abducted shepherd of a Celestial church located in Oriyarin village, Mowe, Ogun State, Oladapo Oluwaseyifunmi.
Making the disclosure in a post on its official X handle on Friday, the command revealed that a joint team of security operatives stormed the forest for the rescue operation.
Peoples Gazette earlier reported that the police got information on Thursday that some gunmen invaded the church and kidnapped the cleric and one Oluboboye Abiola, before escaping into the thick forest behind the church.
“We are pleased to inform members of the public that one Oladapo Oluwaseyifunmi, shepherd of the Celestial church kidnapped, has been rescued through the relentless combing of the forest by policemen, hunters, VGN, Amotekun,” the post read.
According to the command in the statement, the shepherd has now been reunited with his family. There was no mention of the second victim in the statement.
The rescue operation came after the Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, ordered the immediate mobilisation of security personnel to hunt the hoodlums.
