The police in Hong Kong have confirmed the death of a butcher reportedly knocked over by a pig set for butchering.

The cause of death is unknown but the police said that it appears the butcher was knocked down by the pig after he shot it with a stun gun to weaken it for butchering.

The police found the 61-year-old man with a meat cleaver in his hand and a leg injury he suffered from the 15 inch blade after he was knocked down by the pig on Friday.

The butcher after the attack was confirmed dead at the hospital.

Reacting to the incident, the Labour Department expressed its sympathy to the victims family and said it will be launching an investigation into the incident.
