PDP elects new state executives in Katsina

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State has elected new party officials, with Nura Amadi-Kurfi as its state chairman.
The new state leadership of the PDP was sworn in to commence official duties immediately at the end of the party’s congress on Thursday night in Katsina.
In his inaugural address, the new chairman commended the PDP national leadership under the chairmanship of Umar Iliyasu-Damagum, who is leading the party at a critical period.
Mr Amadi-Kurfi further expressed appreciation to Senator Yakubu Lado, whom he said led the party to victory in the 2023 presidential elections in the state.
He noted that Mr Lado’s leadership enabled the PDP to win the state’s presidential and some National Assembly elections.
The newly sworn-in PDP chairman said his leadership will focus on ensuring unity among party members, enforcing law and order, entrenching internal democracy and providing a level playing ground for all contestants in the 2027 general elections.
He called on the PDP leaders, chieftains, and stakeholders to support and cooperate with the new party leadership to move the party forward.
Earlier, the chairman of the caretaker committee that organised PDP congresses in the state, Musa Abdulkarim-Makarfi, submitted the handover notes to the new chairman.
Some executive members include Hassan Aliyu as the assistant financial secretary, Audi Lawal as the assistant publicity secretary, and Shitu Magami as the auditor.
Others are three assistant organising secretaries, three women leaders, three youth leaders, and six ex-officious.
