Oshiomhole says Buhari “huge electoral asset” to Tinubu after detaching campaign from regime’s failures

Adams Oshiomhole says President Muhammadu Buhari’s voice is a huge electoral asset to All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu’s campaign.
“With President Buhari’s voice on the side of Bola Tinubu, it is a huge electoral asset,” Mr Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the APC, said Wednesday night on Channels TV.
Mr Oshiomhole, who is a deputy director general of the Tinubu-Shettima campaign, further said Mr Buhari will garner support for the APC presidential candidate across the country.
He dismissed opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar as a “no match” for Mr Buhari based on popularity.
“With all due respect to Atiku Abubakar, he cannot dispute that where Buhari stands electorally, he can’t speak,” he said.
Mr Oshiomhole’s statement came a few days after he had distanced Mr Tinubu from the Buhari-led regime, saying Mr Tinubu played no part in Mr Buhari’s regime and as such could not be blamed for any infraction by the government.
Mr Tinubu, one of the founders of the ruling party, will labour to detach himself from the failings of the Buhari regime which he helped install seven years ago, even as he tries to convince the Nigerian electorate to entrust him and his party with the country’s reins of government in the 2023 elections.
