Ondo APC Primary: Large turnout, security at voting centres in Okitipupa

The All Progressives Congress primary election in Ondo State to choose the governorship candidate for the November 16 governorship election recorded a large turnout of members at the designated centres at the wards.
The exercise at various wards in Okitipupa, however, suffered a delay as party officials and those of the Independent National Electoral Commission did not arrive on time.
At Ward 1 at Stella Maris College, Ward 2 at LA Primary School and Ayeka/Igbidigo Ward in Ayeka, large enthusiastic party members gathered at the venues waiting for the arrival of officials to conduct the election.
There was also the presence of security personnel including the police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at the various election venues in the wards.
A chieftain of the APC in Okitipupa, John Ebisanmi, said party members were ready to vote for their preferred aspirants.
He said that the voting process was supposed to have started by 8:00 a.m., but the officials of INEC and APC had yet to arrive.
Mr Ebisanmi expressed confidence that with the security measures put in place, the exercise would be hitch-free.
“You can see that APC members are ready for the process, but right now sorting of validated members is not done because INEC officials are not here yet,” he said.
