Ondo 2024: Nonagenarian begs Tinubu to ease economic hardship on Nigerians

A 91-year-old man, Adesanoye Eghaegbemi, has appealed to the President Bola Tinbuu-led government to assist the masses by taking steps to alleviate the current economic hardship in the country.
Mr Eghaegbemi made the appeal on Saturday shortly after voting at the Unit 5, Ward 6, Ikoya Igbinsin-Oloto in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The nonagenarian said that the present economic hardship was affecting the elderly, saying the government should institute measures to cushion hunger effects.
He added that he came out to exercise his franchise to enjoy good governance and more dividends of democracy.
He stated, “I came out to vote to exercise my franchise as a bonafide citizen of Nigeria to elect good leaders and engender good governance, and enjoy the dividends of democracy. There is hardship and hunger in the land; it’s affecting the elderly ones too, so we plead with the government to intervene and cushion the effects of hardship and hunger on poor masses.’’
He, however, prayed that God would enthrone a government that would have the masses at heart at the end of the exercise.
