Okoya brothers to honour EFCC invitation Monday over alleged naira

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited Subomi and Wahab Okoya; sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya, over alleged naira abuse.
According to an invitation letter by the acting Director of the EFCC Lagos Directorate, Michael Wetkas, the brothers are to report to the head, special operations team at the anti-graft agency’s office at 15A Awolowo Road, on Monday, by 10 a.m.
The pair, dressed in white Agbada, was captured in a video flaunting, tossing and spraying N1,000 notes while dancing in a promotional clip of a video for Mr Raheem’s new song titled “Credit Alert.”
The brothers’ action is said to have violated Section 21(3) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.
Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Friday, stated that a cop seen in the video holding other bundles of the notes for the brothers had been detained.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, had yet to respond to calls and messages by Peoples Gazette sent to his mobile seeking comment on the development at the time this report was filed.
