According to reports in France, the unnamed footballer exited his car at the motorway’s hard shoulder, proceeded to climb over the barrier, and started threatening to throw himself off.
RMC Sport reported firefighters and police are on the scene at the Magnan Bridge while Nice has dispatched its psychologist to help the player, who is yet to be identified.
In response to the latest development, OGC Nice has cancelled Friday’s press conference ahead of the league game against Brest on Sunday as the club convenes an emergency crisis meeting.
