Ogar assumes duty as Anambra NSCDC commandant

Michael Ogar has assumed duty as the 16th Anambra commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
SC Edwin Okadigbo, the NSCDC spokesman, said this in a statement on Saturday in Awka.
The statement said that Mr Ogar succeeded Edwin Osuala, who retired from service on December 21.
The new commandant hailed from Boki in Cross River and holds a Bachelor of Education ( B.Ed) degree in Political Science from the University of Uyo and a master’s in Policy and Administration Studies from the University of Calabar.
The statement said, “Ogar joined the NSCDC in 2004 as a chief superintendent of corps and rose through the ranks until his present position. He held several positions in the corps, including head of intelligence and investigation, NSCDC Cross River command and head of training, and Rivers command, among others.
“Before his posting to Anambra, Ogar served in Imo and Rivers as state commandant. Ogar attended a host of professional capacity development courses within and outside the country. He is a recipient of several awards. His hobbies include reading, writing and travelling.”
