NYSC partners financial institutions on start-up loans for corpers

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it is partnering with financial institutions to provide start-up loans for corps members interested in venturing into business.
Director-General of the Corps, Muhammad Fadah, made this known on Tuesday in Abuja at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Course.
Mr Fadah, who was represented by Abdul Suleiman, the FCT NYSC Coordinator, commended corps members’ participation in the entrepreneurial training conducted in camp under the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
He encouraged members to build on the skills acquired by availing themselves of post-camp training opportunities so as to be self-reliant.
“I wish to assure you that management will continue to explore avenues for optimising the impact of the programme,” the DG said.
He told the corps members to be security-conscious at all times, and demanded that employers accept and make the necessary provisions for the corpers welfare.
“I also call on other stakeholders, including state and local government authorities, as well as traditional rulers to give the necessary encouragement to the youth corps members,” he said.
