NUJ: Jigawa council’s ex-chairman Fahad Mallam-Madori dies

The Jigawa Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has announced the demise of its past Chairman, Fahad Mallam-Madori, who passed away on Sunday night in his hometown of Mallam-Madori.
The chairman of the council, Isma’il Ibrahim, announced this in a statement, saying that the deceased would be buried at 9 am on Monday, Ramin Buzuwa, in Mallam-Madori LGA.
Until his death, Mallam-Madori served diligently as the Information Officer of Kaugama and Birniwa LGAs, under Jigawa’s Ministry of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture.
Mr Ibrahim said his commitment to the development of journalism and his exemplary service to the state would remain indelible in the hearts of his colleagues.
“Comrade was not just a journalist but a passionate unionist, who stood firm for the values of truth, professionalism and unity among media practitioners in Jigawa state over the years.
“His tenure as Chairman of the NUJ Jigawa Council was marked by integrity, selflessness, and dedication to the welfare of journalists. The NUJ Jigawa Council, however, extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire media fraternity in the state.
“We share in this great loss and pray that Almighty in His infinite mercy, grants him eternal rest and forgives his shortcomings,” the statement Mr Ibrahim said.
Mr Mallam-Madori died at the age of 53, leaving behind a wife and four children.
