NSCDC to deploy 1,350 personnel in Cross River for Easter celebration

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Cross River says 1,350 will be deployed across the state to ensure safety of lives and property during Easter celebration.
The spokesperson of the command, Superintendent Solomon Eremi, disclosed this to journalists in Calabar on Wednesday.
He said the personnel to be deployed comprised both the uniform and plain-clothed ones.
He said the mandate is to secure public facilities, churches and recreational centres across the 18 local government areas of the state.
“The corps’ ultimate aim is to ensure that the people enjoy a peaceful Easter celebration.
“To ensure this, our men and officers will secure all the flash points in the state as well as manning the public spaces.
“Aside from the fact that we will be deploying both plain clothes and uniform personnel, our tactical team will also be involved.”
While enjoining the people to remain peaceful and law-abiding during the celebration, the spokesman appealed to the public to volunteer any information that would assist the Corps in crime prevention.
