NSCDC nabs three suspected criminals in Katsina

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) says it arrested three suspected criminals over conspiracy, trespass, burglary and theft in Katsina.
The spokesperson for the civil defence, Buhari Hamisu, disclosed this while parading the suspects on Thursday in Katsina.
“On Friday, July 14, 2023, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in arresting the three (3) suspects, Musa Murtala, also known as DARI, 17-year old of Lungun Katsalle Shararrar pipe Quarters Katsina. Others include Nasiru Yusuf, aged 17 years old, of Unwala Quarters, Bayan Gidan Nakowa Katsina and Yahaya Lawal, aged 30, also of Unwala Quarters Katsina,” the NSCDC statement said.
It added, “The notorious syndicate specialises in housebreaking and stealing. In the course of investigation, suspects confessed to have committed the offences. They have also stated that on Tuesday, July 5, 2023, they conspired with Yahaya Shuaibu, alias Jidda, the ring leader and three other suspects now at large.”
The statement added that the suspects burgled a compound of two flats of Alhaji Jafaru Sani-Buhari and Buraimoh Abbas-Olayemi at Shararrar Pipe Quarters Katsina and stole several items worth thousands of naira.
Items recovered from the suspects included a mattress, freezer, sewing machine, gas cooker, grinding machine, generator, and electricity stabilizer. Other items were kettles, a hand saw, submersible wire, a bag containing sockets and a ceiling fan.
“The suspects will be charged to a competent court for prosecution after investigation,” the NSCDC stated.
NSCDC commandant Jamilu Indabawa warned Katsina criminals and mischief-makers to desist from breaking laws. He called on the public to support the security agencies with “actionable and timely intelligence that will help to unravel the activities of miscreants in the state and report any suspicious movements to the nearest office.”
