NSCDC joins EFCC to fight Yahoo boys, corrupt officials

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reiterated its commitment to partner the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its fight against corruption.
The NSCDC commandant in Kwara, Muhammed Ibrahim, disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the zonal office of the EFCC in Ilorin on Friday.
Mr Ibrahim said he was at the EFCC office to build on an existing partnership in a common interest, especially tackling corruption, intelligence sharing and criminal activities.
He commended the EFCC’s efforts in the fight against corruption in the country and assured that the NSCDC would support the anti-graft agency to succeed.
In his response, the EFCC zonal commander, Michael Ezekwe, thanked the commandant for the visit and “for always being a partner in progress.”
Mr Ezekwe commended the existing good relationship between the two organisations and urged the new commandant to consolidate it. The EFCC commander requested the support of the NSCDC in fighting the menace of illegal miners and the activities of hoodlums, which could lead to economic sabotage.
He urged the NSCDC to join the EFCC to stop the menace. The zonal head appealed to the NSCDC to assist the anti-corruption agency in intelligence sharing with the commission to fight corruption at all levels.
The EFCC zonal commander assured the NSCDC Kwara commandant of the commission’s continuous collaboration and support.
