The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Adamawa State has deployed 1,600 operatives to ensure security during the yuletide period across the state.

The spokesman for the command, DSC Nyako Baba, made this known in a statement in Yola on Saturday.

He said that the command under the leadership of the state Commandant, Idriss Bande, has adopted strategic measures across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

He states, “These measures are aimed at fostering a secure environment where residents can celebrate without fear or apprehension with a keen focus on protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as securing public spaces such as event centres, markets, and places of worship. The command is determined to guarantee a peaceful and joyous festive season.’’

According to him, the NSCDC is working in synergy with sister security agencies to strengthen the state’s overall security framework.

He explained that the collaboration with other security agencies includes intelligence sharing, coordinated patrols, and rapid response mechanisms to address any emerging threats promptly.

He stated, “The state Commandant, Bande, has assured the good people of Adamawa State of the corps’ commitment to their safety before, during, and after the festive period.’’

He called on residents to remain vigilant and to cooperate with security agents as well as promptly report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
