NPF Day: Police to organise medical outreach in Benue

The police command in Benue has announced plans to hold a medical outreach as part of activities to commemorate the maiden National Police Day.
The command’s police public relations officer, SP Sewuese Anene, made the disclosure in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday in Makurdi.
Ms Anene said that the command under the leadership of CP Stave Yabanet would celebrate the maiden National Police Day on April 7.
“This day commemorates the selfless services and values that police officers add to our society.
“The command has planned activities for the celebration, which include medical outreach, awareness and educational programmes in schools on cultism and violence extremism.
“We’ll also have sanitation within communities and a town hall meeting to engage our esteemed stakeholders in discussions that will improve policing in Benue.
“In recognition of persons who have supported the command to attain this height, the Yabanet has expressed gratitude to Gov. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his endless support to the command.
“He appreciated traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, youth leaders and other stakeholders who have supported the command,” he said.
