North-Central youths hail military for stopping terrorists infiltrating Niger from Zamfara

The North-Central Youth Professionals have lauded the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their recent decisive military action that thwarted an attempted terrorist infiltration from Zamfara into Niger.
The group gave the commendation in a statement jointly signed by its president, Sunday Dikko, and secretary, Hassana Danladi, on Thursday.
The duo praised the troops of Operation Fansar Yamma for the swift and successful operation conducted on July 22 near Inana village in the Rijau LGA of Niger.
”The armed forces have once again demonstrated their unmatched professionalism and dedication to the safety of Nigerians. They have made the North-Central region a difficult terrain for terrorists,” they said.
The military had on Wednesday disclosed that troops from the Mariga and Zuru axes intercepted and neutralised a large group of terrorists advancing from the Baban Doka axis of Maru LGA of Zamfara.
According to the military, the ground assault was complemented by critical air support from the air component of OPFY, which provided surveillance, intelligence, and precision air strikes to bolster the troops’ effectiveness in the fierce firefight.
The duo noted that the surge in movement of terrorists into the North-Central was due to sustained military pressure in the North-West and North-East.
They urged communities in the region to work closely with security forces to detect and defeat any threats by rejecting criminal infiltrators who sought to enter their land.
They reaffirmed their support for the military and commended the chief of defence staff, Christopher Musa, under whose leadership the recent string of successful operations had continued.
They also urged residents of affected areas to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies, while emphasising the importance of unity in the fight against terrorism.
