NNL: Saraki FC pip Sporting Lagos 1-0

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club of Ilorin, on Saturday secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sporting Lagos FC in a Nigeria National League (NNL) Matchday 15 encounter in Ilorin, Kwara State.
With the win at the George Innih Stadium, ABS returned to winning ways after a winless run of three matches.
The first half of the match ended goalless but ABS persistence paid off when substitute Boluwatife Ajina scored the decisive goal in added time.
Ajina tapped in a pass from Ayoku Abdulraman thus sending the Ilorin fans into wild jubilation.
ABS Head Coach Anthony Encho praised his players’ fighting spirit, noting the result was a huge relief for the team.
He said, “I am proud of the players’ zeal and determination as we worked.hard for this victory. The win has moved us up the table and we look forward to building on this momentum.”
Goal scorer, Ajina, expressed happiness with the goal and pledged to sustain his scoring momentum for the team’s benefit.
“I pray to continue scoring to assist the team achieve its aims this season. The win is a great boost for us and we are looking forward to the next game.” he said. (NAN)
