NNL: ABS force City FC to 1-1 draw in Ilorin

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC on Saturday came from a goal down to force visiting City FC of Abuja to a 1-1 draw.
The 2021/2022 Nigeria National League (NNL) match Day 13 was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
The visitors were more purposeful in the way they attack and defend in a game that the City FC players looked fitter and faster than their hosts.
It took only four minutes before the visitors got the chance of been ahead when the centre referee pointed to the spot after John Godwin had hacked a City FC player.
City FC number 9, Emmanuel Ihezuo, stepped forward and quickly take a fast penalty to give the visitors the lead in the 5th minute.
The hosts struggled for most of the first half and defended often because City FC were always attempting to break through the counter attack.
The hosts restarted the last half of the game with more intent and pegged the visitors to their half and allowed ABS the play.
The centre referee however turned down several ABS Ilorin FC penalty appeals which didn’t go down well with some the hosts’ fans.
The hosts searched for the equaliser but they were always meeting a resilient and coordinated City FC defenders.
ABS Ilorin FC’s captain, Ibrahim Muhammed, however even the scores in the 78th minute with a superb finish leaving the visitors’ defence in anquish.
It was ABS Ilorin FC’s third consecutive draw in the last three games.
