NIS reaffirms commitment to excellent service delivery

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reaffirmed its commitment to entrenching efficiency, transparency and professionalism across all its operational windows, declaring customer satisfaction a primary benchmark for assessing officers’ performance.
The Comptroller-General of the NIS, Kemi Nandap, gave the assurance at the end of its 2026 Customer Service Week.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by the Service’s public relations officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi.
The commemoration, which had “Going the Extra Mile – Creating a Lasting Smile” as its theme, featured activities aimed at promoting service excellence, professionalism and improved customer relations across the NIS.
The comptroller-general emphasised the need to instil excellent customer service in staff’s daily operations.
She also emphasised professionalism, timely service delivery, prompt complaint resolution and respectful treatment of customers.
Mrs Nandap reaffirmed ongoing reforms to improve customer satisfaction and hostmanship, while charging officers to uphold integrity, eliminate unnecessary delays and make customer satisfaction a key performance benchmark.
The head of operations, Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM), Presidency, Ngozi Akinbodewa, in her remarks, commended the NIS for evolving its SERVICOM Unit.
Ms Akinbodewa noted that the 2026 Customer Service Week marked a critical step towards sustaining citizen-focused service delivery in line with global best practices.
She added that the international event provided an opportunity to recognise employees who go the extra mile in exceeding expectations and meeting customer needs.
Similarly, the special assistant to the Comptroller-General of Immigration Service (SA-CGIS) on SERVICOM, DCI Awwal Abubakar, highlighted the importance of accountability.
He emphasised responsiveness and adherence to service standards, urging officers to continually improve their conduct and prioritise customer satisfaction in the discharge of their duties.
